The Press Democrat's Talk Back reader panel is an opportunity for readers in Sonoma, Mendocino, Lake, Napa and Marin counties to share their views on everything from presidential politics to local culture. As a participant, you’ll receive occasional email from us requesting your input on a particular issue. On rare occasions we may call you in person to ask your opinion.

A few rules

  • Information you provide for Talk Back will not be collected for redistribution or used for purposes other than newsgathering.
  • TalkBack participants must be California residents 18 and older.
  • Employees of The Press Democrat and their immediate families (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and persons living in the same household may not participate.

Signup is easy!

To sign up for TalkBack, you'll need a couple of items:

  • A photo of yourself, either in digital format or a physical snapshot you can mail us (it will not be returned)
  • A photo ID, either scanned into a digital image or photocopied
You can attach either or both of these images below, or mail them in (you'll see the address on the last signup screen). Once you have both items ready, fill out the form and you'll be on your way to joining TalkBack's pool of active participants.

If you don't already have a suitable photo to use, our staff photographers can take one. Please email us at talkback@pressdemocrat.com before filling out the form to make arrangements.

 All information below is required, unless otherwise noted.

Start by filling out your name, email and attaching your photo and photo ID (driver's license, work badge).
Acceptable image formats include .jpeg, .jpg, .gif with a combined maximum file size of 1MB (1000k).

Be prepared to answer questions about yourself. Questions include your birth year, gender, income, type of work you do, education, and your interests. Click the "Next" button.
